Congratulations to our 2014 Teacher Grant Recipients!

We are pleased to announce the recipients of our 2014 Teacher Grant Award. The credit union began this program in an effort to assist their members who are educators in funding equipment, supplies or training.

The recipients are:

Mary Grout

Mary Grout, Grant Recipient
“I am thrilled that my students have improved their reading fluency and reading comprehension skills. I am thankful for the opportunity to use the iPad Mini’s. I truly believe that the use of technology within the classroom is beneficial.”

Mary Grout, Special Education Teacher at Eli Whitney Elementary School in Enfield, CT. Ms. Grout will use the grant funds to purchase an IPad to provide customized information on the IPAD that fits their level and learning style as well as track the students’ development.

Tammy Young-Cote

Tammy Young-Cote, Grant Recipient
“The new technology has attracted new members to our team, and our Robotics camp will allow those who can attend further opportunity to test and learn the technology.”

Tammy Young-Cote, Librarian at St. Bernard School in Enfield, CT. Ms. Young-Cote will use the grant funds to purchase a Lego Mindstorms Robot Kit. This kit will enrich their Robotics program with a technology upgrade. The team encourages STEM skills which involves building and programming an autonomous robot to solve certain challenges.
