Visa ATM/Debit Cards
Use your Visa ATM/Debit Card to pay for purchases anywhere Visa is accepted. The purchase amount will automatically be deducted from available funds in your Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union checking account. You can also use your Visa ATM/Debit card to access funds from your credit union checking or savings account at any ATM. Please read the important information below about using your debit card for foreign transactions.
Other financial institutions may charge you a fee when you use their ATM.
Find a FEE-FREE ATM near you that is part of the CO-OP Network that we partner with. You can also search for an international CO-OP ATM. Please check before you travel as there is a limited amount of countries that offer this.
Debit Card Travel Notice
If you are going to be traveling within the United States or to foreign countries and you will be using your TVTFCU Debit Card, it’s important that you contact us to let us know prior to your trip.
By letting us know in advance we can see that your debit card does not get blocked and is activated for foreign transactions. You can download our Travel Information Form and return it to us or contact us Monday through Friday, during regular business hours, by calling 860-253-4780 or 800-749-8305 before your trip or purchase.
Online Debit Card Purchases from Foreign Merchants
If you are going to be making a purchase from an online merchant located in a foreign country and you will be using your TVTFCU Debit Card, it’s important that you contact us to let us know prior to your purchase. By letting us know in advance we can see that your debit card does not get blocked and is activated for foreign transactions. You will need to contact us Monday through Friday, during regular business hours, by calling 860-253-4780 or 800-749-8305 before your purchase.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high risk of debit card fraud in foreign countries, you may not be able to use your debit card in all foreign countries and/or online purchases from a merchant outside of the United States. Another alternative when traveling or making online purchases is using our CUMoney Prepaid Reloadable Visa Cards or another payment option rather than using your debit card.
RFID Debit Card/Credit Card Sleeves
The credit union offers our members RFID sleeves for your TVTFCU Visa debit card and/or TVTFCU Visa credit card. These sleeves are designed to prevent thieves from being able to remotely scan the digital information stored on your debit and credit card. You may receive one sleeve free per card. Additional sleeves may be purchased for $1.00 each.
