Congratulations to our 2013 Teacher Grant Recipients!
We are pleased to announce the recipients of our 2013 Teacher Grant Award. The credit union began this program this year in an effort to assist their members who are educators in funding equipment, supplies or training.
The recipients are:

“This grant helped me to increase reading, improve literacy and make life-long learners out of my students. My Grolier usage was phenomenal, almost tripling from last year!”
Sharon Wolf, Librarian at Eli Whitney Elementary School in Enfield, CT. Ms. Wolf will use the grant funds to purchase an IPad for students to access an online library as well as utilizing for research projects. She has been working in the library for 19 years as well as volunteering in additional school departments.

“My objectives of increasing motivation and empowering students’ metacognition were met. The GoReaders were one of my main ingredients in students’ literacy intervention and instruction this year. Thank you very much!”
Adrienne Snow, Secondary Reading Department Chair at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Enfield, CT. Ms. Snow will use the grant funds to purchase GoReaders (audiobooks) for students to use to improve reading skills. She has been working for the Enfield Public Schools for 14 years. She also teaches Reading as an adjunct instructor at Asnuntuck Community College and Central Connecticut State University.
